The decision to record had been
of-the-cuff to begin with. In December of 2003 Mary, Keith and
I were discussing long-term plans for her next MSB studio album,
when the thought of an interim "live" production occurred
to us. A couple of phone calls to OK the concept with the band
members and club management and that was it!
At 8:10PM, the band took the stage for two opening
tunes featuring Keith on vocals and guitar.. then Mary made her
entrance. From the first song, she was clearly in fine form. The
comfortable atmosphere suited her mood and she delivered a set
that ranged from a raging "Tee Nee Ni Nu" through a
sultry "Your Good Thing" to the softness of "Out
of the Rain." Throughout, the Alley crowd was treated to
vintage Mary as she swayed, danced and hip-shot her way around
the stage, red hair ablaze in the lights.
